I need your help/advices on a rather sobering topic.
The place where I work on its own is not bad. The work and pace is fast, but my team is excellent and we are truly a family rather than just friends- we support each other, stand up for one another etc.
However, the glaring issue is middle/upper management, especially one individual in particular, our lead.
He has been there for over seven years, and is infamous both inside our department and even outside for being an absolute piece of work of a human being. That is putting it kindly.
He is rude, condescending, and aggressive with a Napoleon complex. This person will never help our team when things are hectic; he will come into the lab to point out what is wrong and then leave. If any mistakes are made rather than taking initiative he likes to point fingers to keep any heat off of him. His micro-managing is enough to either put people to pieces or make them snap. He does not listen, it is his way or the highway- he is very controlling.
He also has a superiority complex where he makes others feel slow, stupid and like they do not belong in the department. He talks down to everyone like they don't know anything, despite many of us holding degrees and being highly intelligent.
He uses his aggression and loud voice as intimidation to get people to do what he wants, and has no problems virtually bullying people. To add to this, he is a very vengeful person. Any pushback or call outs are met with retaliation in one way or another.
A lot of this is due to a lack of self-awareness, and narcissism. Add to this the manipulativeness....
He knows when to act all charming, and kiss ass. He puts on a mask where he'll act friendly, fatherly even, to those he needs something out of. Very creepy.
He also cares more about results rather than safety. He has no qualms about pushing people to work excessive overtime, or do dangerous tasks to hit the numbers.
This is not a single person's view, after interviewing our entire team this is what I was told, with many people having similar views to one another.
Not just to supervisors, but managers, HR even
But to no avail...he has over 5 HR cases on him related to behavior alone...
He will "improve" for a short amount of time, then immediately back slide.
I have stood up to him many many times, with the same result, or retaliation. I was about to become permanent as I am well liked by the team, including other leads and our previous supervisor- but he purposefully shot me down when I started talking back to him.
I initiated a HR case against him that went nowhere, especially when our supervisor quit from frustration.
We were told that he was to be promoted laterally but that fizzled out too.
Our team has a very high turnover rate. 13 people have left, with a good part of their reason being our lead.
We are all stressed and burned out to hell, as we are constantly on the lookout for this knucklehead and let others know when he is near.
Many others are considering leaving.
We lost a lot of good people who decided to go elsewhere for better treatment.
An outspoken associate that had pushed back for ages left after burning out and not seeing change.
One associate had a pacemaker. They were intelligent but slower at learning and made mistakes. They became a target for our lead, who would constantly single them out. The constant stress was torture, and lead to them having palpitations. They left when their doctor told them they were going to die if they didn't manage stress soon.
The latest and worst is when we lost a very good worker that was well loved by all, a very good friend of mine.
This person struggled with mental health issues and being around this person made them profoundly worse.
This person's boundaries were constantly passed, their last straw was when they got injured doing a dangerous procedure the lead told them to do. The coworker refused to do any more, only for the lead to push them to do it again.
Another coworker of mine, and another good friend was pushed to snap at the lead. This person is very gentle and slow to anger, but he had had enough and went off on the lead for 40 minutes where he bluntly told him everything. The lead behaved for all of three weeks before backsliding.
I have done my part to stand up for others and myself. I have started an HR case that went nowhere.
We have seen people stand up and burn out. I have heard many stories of similar happening in the past.
Me, my ex-coworker and another coworker are of a mind to start a case against our company for Emotional damage, mainly the ex-coworker.
Here is where I need your advices/help...
Is it best to have the main person start 1 case and we follow them as evidence/witness?
Can we sue as a party?
Or should we sue individually?
We are not interested in money. We could quit.
But this is about principle...this has gone on for too long and affected too many, we must do something to break the cycle and ensure future workers don't have to deal with this garbage.
Please, help me to help my coworkers...

My exam result will be published in the upcoming 27 December.... I don't know what will be my results but, my results depends that in which type of college I can be admitted..... I have my own dream college.... n there will be no admission test just they will see my marks on my board exam n my grade ... I need to get A+ grade .. but, my exams were not that worthy to get A+ . Also marks depends . In my dream college students can get admitted who have high marks ..... 😞😞

GPA: 2.9 by CAS, but my AA is 3.9, my BA is 3.3, and I plan to write an addendum. Also, I have worked for the gov for 10 years, the last five as an administrative hearing officer. Do y'all think I have a chance? Or should I not bother aiming that high (and spending the money)?

I think most of the sub is in agreement that the absolute best thing Anna can do right now is to get her and the kids somewhere safe, away from the Duggar borg. But what I’ve been wondering is, how does she actually do that? If she woke up right now and went ‘oh my cow, I need to go ASAP’, what does she do?
I’m wondering what resources she even has available to her. If she calls one of her siblings and they agree to take her in, does she have enough on a bank card to pay for the fuel to get there? Is she even allowed to have the bank cards in her purse without prior approval from a headship? Does she have keys to the car, or are they all kept inside TTH? Do all the M-kids sleep in the warehome or do some sleep in TTH, in which case, how does she get them? Can she google shelters without it pinging an internet filter? If she rings someone to get her from the house, what would actually happen? Would any of her siblings come? Would the authorities get involved if there’s not a tangible threat?
Or if she decided to try to plan it, instead of leaving immediately, does she risk telling any of the kids? How does she pack without anyone noticing? IIRC there’s cameras in some parts of TTH and the warehouse. If she makes some excuse to take the seven kids somewhere, will the Duggars actually believe her? Or will they try to send Jana along to ‘help out’?
I guess I’m just wondering what she would actually need to do to be able to escape.

I am finally starting to feel better. It's been something like 58 days off subs and it's been hellish. I jumped at 30 mg I was immobile. It's been 80 days without any benzos. I ct benzos and just CT subs I ct fent in January but relapsed right after rehab. I still feel like shit but it's night and day compared to the start. I am just so depressed. My thought weigh heavily on the intrusive side. I don't really see a point in living if I'm plauged with fighting cravings everyday to escape depression and everything I've done. I have a job interview tomorrow and I'm petrified I haven't worked all year and I'm sober.. here's to another day raw dogging life. Hope y'all are well and finding peace of mind somewhere in this hell.
